We have talked before about non-profit groups reinventing the donor wall process in order to gain more recognition to their causes and increase the volume of donors as a whole. Donor walls are an invaluable resource to bring attention to a specific cause or organization, and the use of individual donor recognition plaques will often increase the number of donors as well as the value of the donations themselves.

Donor Walls for Non-Profits and Hospitals:

In Greeley, Colorado, the Blood Donor Center at North Colorado Medical Center is planning a new donor wall that will span a 14 foot display in the hospital. The donor wall will be created to honor high-volume blood donors.

The Blood Donor Center unveiled the donor recognition wall in a ceremony with many of the high-volume donor invited to attend. This move guarantees that the donors will physically see that their contribution is recognized and celebrated, which in turn fosters a desire to donate more.
It is interesting to note that the hospital already has a mass-donor wall that lists everyone who has volunteered, regardless of amount, but the new donor wall recognizes only high volume donors. This is a non-profit business move that ensures high-volume donors receive the recognition that they deserve.

The new donor wall lists donors who have given two gallons of blood or more. Those who have given 10 gallons or more will have their names engraved on plaques for the display.

Bronze plaques for donor recognition and donor walls are playing an increasingly large role in non-profit businesses and organizations across the country.
