There is a variety of standard as well as special mounting methods available to suit virtually any bronze plaque installation. Because bronze plaques are appropriate for any location, indoors and out, a variety of mounting methods needed to be created to ensure that your plaque looks perfect no matter where it’s location.
For concealed, permanent mounting of your Bronze plaque to:
Brick Walls
Stone Walls
Masonry Surfaces
For larger bronze plaques, Bosses, which are extra pads, are cast onto the back of the plaque. The bosses are already drilled and tapped to accept a threaded stud. For smaller, flat backed bronze plaques, no bosses are needed and the plaque itself is generally drilled and tapped for a threaded stud.
To begin mounting your bronze plaque, drill holes in the mounting surface. Make these holes slightly larger than the diameter of the studs. Next, fill the mounting holes with silicone, epoxy, or quickset cement. Set the studs into the holes and allow the materials to cure according to manufacturer’s instructions.
For semi-permanent mounting of your Bronze Plaque to:
Hollow Tile
Cement Blocks
Drywall
Wood paneling over studs
Holes are pre-drilled through the face of the bronze plaque for toggle bolts, which are threaded machine screws 4″ to 6″ long. The toggle bolts have spring-loaded butterflies that fold up and pass through wall holes.
When mounting your bronze plaque, use the bronze plaque holes as a template and drill holes through the wall large enough to accommodate the butterfly assembly. Insert each machine screw through the bronze plaque and screw on each butterfly. Fold the butterfly assemblies and insert them through holes until wings spring open inside the hollow wall.
Pull back on each screw head to press the butterfly against the inside wall. Turn each machine screw, first by hand, then with a screwdriver.
